100% Disabled Veterans Get High Priority from the Social Security Administration
Applying for Social Security Disability benefits can be a long and drawn out process ― even if you are a veteran. Sometimes they will give veterans high priority if the veteran is deemed 100% service connected disabled through the VA. SSA began fast tracking this small group of veterans in March 2014.Under the new guidelines, the SSA expedites disability applications from fully disabled veterans, putting them at the front of the line and alleviating a bureaucratic nightmare that can sometimes last for years. This initiative was designed to repay military men and women who sacrificed for our country and are now suffering from severe mental and physical conditions, including PTSD, TBI, loss of limbs and a myriad of other horrific injuries caused by being in the military. The move cut months off the wait time for disabled veterans ― many of whom have already endured long wait times for the VA to process their compensation claim.
To receive expedited service from the Social Security Administration, veterans must inform the SSA that they have a 100% Permanent and Total (P&T) disability rating and show proof with a copy of their VA Notification Letter.
Call Betz and Baril, we love all the veterans and we love helping them get the benefits they deserve more than the rest of us that were not in the military.
